
GYM TIPS FOR BEGINNERS

Ready to start training at the gym but unsure where to start? We understand it can be a daunting experience, which is why we have put together a list of tips to help you feel more confident getting started in the gym.
1. BOOK A GYM TOUR
When you sign up, you should receive an introduction and tour of your new gym! This will help you understand the layout and equipment. Some gyms even offer brief explanations on how to use the equipment or even a complimentary PT package to get started. Be sure to ask!
2. FIND A QUIET TIME
Going to the gym at a time you know will be quiet is a great way to make yourself comfortable with the exercise machines (with minimal people around). If you are unsure of when the best time to attend would be, ask the staff, and they should be able to help.
3. HAVE A PLAN
Plan out your workout before you get to the gym so you know what machines and areas you want to use. If you are nervous to move around the gym, base your workout around one station/section of the gym.
4. SIGN UP WITH A FRIEND
Do you have your exit buddy?! Exercising with a friend is a great way to build confidence in the gym. Not only can you help each other with workouts and equipment, but having a friend can keep you motivated for your sessions!
5. ATTEND A CLASS
If your gym offers classes, this could be a fun way to get to know people who also attend your gym and an easy way to get a workout in that you don’t have to plan yourself.
6. FOLLOW A PROGRAM
