GETTING BACK ON TRACK

GETTING BACK ON TRACK

Lifestyle | 07 May 2025

Sometimes life happens... motivation declines, you get sick, take a holiday, or just have a shift in priorities for a little while, and training takes a bit of a back seat. And that's okay!

Getting back on track can sometimes be challenging, but it is possible to rebuild your routine and pick up from where you left off. Here are our top tips!

TIP 1: SET A GOAL

Set yourself a realistic goal. This could mean completing 2 workouts a week and getting your steps in 4 out of 7 days. You want this first goal to be achievable so you don't feel like you have failed before you have even started. Once you are regularly achieving this target, reset your goal and up your weekly workouts.

TIP 2: MAKE SMALL CHANGES

Getting back into fitness doesn't have to be all or nothing. Implement changes that you can achieve and continue to build on this over time. By achieving these mini wins it will assist you in setting your sights to your bigger goals.

TIP 3: EAT WELL & HYDRATE

It is amazing what a week of healthy eating can do for your mindset. Prep and plan some of your favourite healthy meals and invest in a new water bottle to hit that daily hydration target!

TIP 4: PREP YOUR GYM BAG & CLOTHES

It is easy to skip out on your early morning workout and hit that snooze button because getting up seems hard when you are half asleep. By having your gym bag packed and clothes ready to go, you have eliminated a portion of your morning struggle.

Top tip: Selecting a cute workout outfit adds extra motivation ;)

TIP 5: ATTEND CLASSES OR TRAIN WITH A FRIEND

Need that extra motivation to kickstart your fitness? Arrange to train with a friend, join a run club or boot camp - whatever you need to keep yourself accountable!

TIP 6: FOLLOW A STRUCTURED TRAINING PROGRAM

Following a structured training program means you can take the guesswork out of your sessions and maintain a consistent training routine - which is important to achieve your fitness goals.
